The structural work on the KB Book Warehouse is complete, and we are now beginning the installation of the multi-deep, automated high-bay warehouse—operated by our BOXer storage and retrieval machines and Storage Rovers.
You can think of the shell as the cover of a book—it protects and defines the shape. With the technical implementation of our fully automated channel warehouse, we are now filling this book with pages where Dutch cultural and intellectual history can find a secure, long-term home.
Because at the KB National Library , every book published in the Netherlands has its permanent home. Millions of books that together form a unique, irreplaceable cultural heritage.
The high-bay warehouse consists of 17-meter-high shelves, in which 122 kilometers of Dutch written heritage will be stored in over 220,000 boxes.
We take this responsibility seriously. Stöcklin is proud to play a key role in this once-in-a-century project.
