Habasit is a leading global manufacturer of conveyor belts and provider of innovative solutions and services for conveyor and drive technology with headquarters in Switzerland. At the production and manufacturing sites in Reinach and Brislach (canton of Basel-Landschaft), the team moves tons and tons of material every day, including product rollers measuring up to 4.8 m in Length, 1.4 m in diameter and weighing up to 4 tons, as well as solvent-based help products. A wide variety of special vehicles are required in the production process In total, a fleet of almost 60 heavy-duty forklift trucks of various manufacturers are in continuous operation, many of them in special design. With an average fleet age of 20 years, modernization is key to maintaining efficiency and reliability.
All Fork lift trucks were retrofitted with market standard wireless access management and shock sensor technology for full service fleet management from Stöcklin. An associated Fleet management system supports vehicle and driver management and enables seamless monitoring: it collects data from all runs and provided Habasit with full visibility of whereabouts, usage patterns and damage causes in fleet operations from day one. Stöcklin's complete service now includes using the data to align maintenance and servicing not only with manufacturer specifications and explosion protection directives, but also and even more closely than before with the actual mileage of the devices. This leads to dynamic maintenance planning and execution and influences renewal or modernization recommendations. As two thirds of the fleet are Stöcklin devices, experience-based maintenance data from the manufacturer's other projects can also be used, which further increases precision, especially for heavy-duty devices.
As a rule, this not only extends the service life with better availability and a better return on investment, because fewer repairs and fewer unscheduled service calls are required overall. Full transparency and controller from a single source also facilitate the capital-saving successive replacement of conventional battery drives with the more energy-efficient lithium-ion drive, including Periphery.
The Habasit fleet also benefits from the Lithium ion and EX protection ecpertise of the Fleet management partner: The ATEX 1/21 certified, patented Stöcklin LiFePo4 battery is the results of many years of research and development with battery cells of different chemistry, shape and disposition. In its current stage of development, Stöcklin thus enables safe, continuous operation of Explosion protection Fork lift trucks within the special environment - without the need to travel to and from remote charging stations, which is the case with conventional Lead/acid rechargeable batteries.
Fleet management customers such as Habasit benefit from Stöcklin's knowledge and experience advantage in the deployment of Lithium ion rechargeable batteries and the associated charging infrastructure for Fork lift trucks - through superior efficiency, practicality and safety.
Stöcklin Fleet management improves operational readiness, extends service life and useful life and reduces the Total Cost of Ownership for the entire fork lift truck fleet - through predictive maintenance planning and execution, extended spare parts availability and repairs in Stöcklin's own workshop and value-preserving modernization recommendations. The switch to lithium-ion Drive units and charging infrastructure improves efficiency, work safety and availability of the devices in the field - and saves space.
