On National Future Day, you can come to work with your relatives or friends and get an overview of their work. The focus is on the change of gender.
Stöcklin offers 5 apprenticeships, which were presented to the children. All professions were explained in an exciting way by the respective apprentices. It was particularly great that we children were allowed to help the chef decorate the desserts.
A tour of the production halls was also part of the day's program. The modern equipment was explained to us, such as the huge welding robot.
After a delicious lunch in the staff restaurant, we returned to the production halls. There we were given a closer look at production and internal logistics. It was extremely exciting to see how many cables are needed for a forklift truck to actually work. In general, I was very impressed by what the individual workers here at Stöcklin have to be able to do so that Stöcklin can ultimately sell its great products to its customers.
I particularly enjoyed getting a taste of the "everyday life" of the Stöcklin CEO. I was allowed to accompany Jürg Frefel to a meeting and had the chance to ask him the following questions afterwards:
What do you think of the Future Day?
Well, I think our Future Day is super cool and do you know why most of all? Because of the chicken nuggets with chips, I really like them. I also enjoy seeing lots of young, interested children here with their eyes shining as they discover the company with their relatives. I think that's great and I really like it.
How do you like being CEO of Stöcklin?
I find it very strict because I have to work a lot. But I think it's really cool that I work with a wide variety of people, and Stöcklin has a lot of great employees.
I also get to see a lot. For example, I get to travel to America or China. I have the opportunity to visit customers and I can talk about technical things. I have a very varied day and in the evening, when I go to bed, I'm always very happy because I get to experience so many different things as CEO. Every day brings something new for me.
My third and final question is, what is your favorite part of your day-to-day work?
Discussing things with people, just like you did in the meeting before. And then finding the best solution together and taking a direction. Because only when the customers are satisfied are they willing to pay for our work and therefore also the wages for all of us.
At the end, I asked my colleagues the following final question:
What did you find particularly great about Future Day?
Angelina: "That we were able to see the different professions, including the warehouse, and that we could look over the parents' shoulders."
Djela: "I thought it was particularly cool that we got to see our parents' workplace. I also thought the cook was great, plus the camp."
Mia: "That we were able to ask lots of questions."
Joel: "I thought the warehouse was great with the big fully automatic forklift truck."
Sophia: "That I was with my father and could see what he does all day. I also really liked the fact that we were in the warehouse and could see how the pallets are taken in and out automatically."
Ella: "Everything, actually."
