This state-of-the-art logistics center is the only facility in Europe that can store, freeze, defrost, and air-condition products fully automatically, all in one location. With the same number of employees, the storage capacity has been increased from 15,000 to nearly 36,000 pallets. At the same time, energy consumption has been halved, and the quality assurance of goods has been significantly improved.

Stöcklin Logistik AG served as the general contractor for the intralogistics, managing the entire project. This included steel construction and the integration of third-party systems, all of which were delivered and installed while operations continued.

"The project has been an overall success in terms of budget, deadlines, and quality. This is not always guaranteed in such a complex project, which spanned five years. We didn’t solve all the challenges in a sprint but in a marathon, and it worked out really well. I’m immensely proud of the outcome—many thanks and hats off," said Clemens Zehnder, Project Leader OPERA.

Urs Grütter also expressed his gratitude for the strong collaboration and mutual respect throughout the process: “Good discussions led to solutions. It was not an easy project, but the results speak for themselves. This has been a great project for a growing company, filled with innovative ideas that evolved alongside us. We constantly learned from each other, which made the work much easier.”

As the responsible sales manager at Stöcklin, Urs Martin thanked everyone involved in the project for their collective efforts in reaching the goal. He also acknowledged their commitment to following the same direction throughout this marathon journey, which ultimately led to the successful completion of the project.
